Why Multisensory Learning Hub?
I started teaching in 2001 and regardless of the school or system, I saw students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs) who were struggling with fundamental skills. The schools just didn't have the ability or resources to support these learners at the required level.
After classroom teaching across year groups from Kindergarten to Year 12, and delivering school-based interventions to primary school students, I became a Learning and Support Teacher at a regional high school. This inspired me to complete my Masters in Special and Inclusive Education through the University of Newcastle.
With a mission to support neurodivergent students, I'm with them every step of the way as they develop the literacy and numeracy skills that are not only essential for academic success but also contribute to self-confidence and positive mental health.
I believe in a personalised approach to support each learner. Everyone has unique needs, and I work to identify and nurture each student's strengths as well as support them on their learning journey. With a focus on multisensory learning techniques and evidence-based practices, I aim to make intervention sessions engaging and effective. My goal is to foster a love for learning while improving academic performance.
With more than 20 years of teaching experience, and over 5 years offering personalised support, I can create an individualised support plan for your child.
